WordPress is a great blog site with many options to use as well as a great range of customization options and stat tracking like Blogger. Setting up an account is extremely easy but there is a slight learning curve in setting the blog itself though.
In my opinion, WordPress themes and templets are better looking than its competitors like Blogger and learnerblogs. Blogger however is easier to use by the average user and has a moderate range of customization tools and advance customization tools like CSS.
Blogger is however more well known and is being runned by Google. Therefor, blogs on blogger are easier to look up in Google than blogs from WordPress. It may take some time before Google will be able to add WordPress blogs in their search results.
EduBlogs or LearnerBlogs however looks exactly the same as WordPress with almost the same interface as WordPress from making new posts to WordPress's Upgrade To Pro button but it is more centered on students and teachers. EduBlogs aims to provides it's services at a certain targeted audience unlike Blogger and WordPress which is targeted to everyone.
Comments can be controlled on each blog site. You can also invite other users to edit on your blog and make posts themselves. This would allow people to easily share info using their own account rather than sharing the stand alone password of the main account to everyone who wants to post on that said blog.
In my opinion, I prefer WordPress than Blogger because of its customization tools and also because the preset themes look better than their Blogger counterparts. Paid themes are available for better looking and more professional looking sites and the UI for editing blogs simply feels more appealing in WordPress. Thinks I don't like about WordPress is that it has a bit more learning curve than Blogger and that Blogger uses your Google Account and connects with other Google services you use from Gmail to the new Google Drive.
If I were to have students of my own and they would like to have their very own blog for the first time, I would recommend blogger for its easier and more simple interface which would allow them to make their blogs quickly. I would however recommend WordPress if they would like a more professional approach. I wouldn't recommend EduBlogs because its simply does not have enough features as the other 2 as well as that the fact that its not that known as a blogging service. Blogger and WordPress are the 2 big ones which people would easily recognize.
